Infosys Foundation announces rewards for innovative social entrepreneurs

Infosys Foundation – the CSR and philanthropic arm of Infosys has spent nearly 1,100 crores in helping others. Now it is looking to create a social impact by supporting entrepreneurs working in the social innovation space. With the “Aarohan Social Innovation Awards”, launched on October 15, Infosys Foundation seeks to recognize and reward individuals, teams or NGOs who are developing exclusive solutions for the social sector.

Awarding Leading Social Entrepreneurs – up to Rs. 50 Lakhs

The prime objective of the Aarohan Social Innovation Awards is to boost innovation in the social sector and provide financial support for otherwise innovative solutions which fall by the wayside due to monetary reasons. Thus Infosys Foundation aims to recognize and reward three promising winners (individuals, teams or NGOs) with a prize money of up to Rs. 50 lakh each.*

The award is accepting submissions across 6 different categories, namely, Sustainability, Healthcare, Rural Development, Destitute Care, Women’s Safety & Empowerment, and Education & Sports.

Things to know:

  • Registration for the first edition are open

  • Applicable should be a resident of India (adult above 18 years)

  • Participants can submit their nominations using this link – Submit Nomination

  • The project needs to be a fully effective model, and not just a concept, mock-up, or an idea.

  • The project should not be an established commercial venture

  • Last date for submission is December 31, 2018

The nominations for the awards will be evaluated by a well-known panel of judges who are dynamically involved in the social space in India. The award winners will be announced in the beginning of the year 2019. Along with the huge prize money, the winners would also get the opportunity of up to 12 weeks of residential technical mentorship at IIT Hyderabad.

There is no shortage of social innovators in our country, the only issue is lack of resources. The Aarohan Social Innovation Awards is the right platform for all such budding innovators who strive hard to a make real difference to the world. Hurry, nominations are open only till 31st Dec 2018.
